Active X - Option Buttons not working in other versions of Word

I've created a document template in Word 2002 (have never done this before).

I used the Active X controls toolbox to add option buttons to the form. It works perfectly on my machine, but the option buttons don't function on my co-workers machines (they are all using Word 2000 - one is using Word X for Mac).

If I save the document template as a regular, protected, Word document, other users can open and use the form, and the buttons work. However, if they want to save the doc and change it later, they have to save it as an RTF doc instead of a word doc. Otherwise, when they open it back up again, it does the same thing with the option buttons not working.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Hi =?Utf-8?B?S2ltYmVybHk=?=,

1. ActiveX controls put macro elements into a file. If
Tools/Macros/Security is set to "High" the controls cannot work. could
this be the problem with the Word 2000 users?

2. ActiveX controls cannot work an a MAC; MAC does not support them.
