Hi on some of my net pages it asks for active x controls but i am not sure
whre to get them, please could someone direct me tot he right place or where
to download them please

dave

they come from the site asking. but they may not be safe.
thanks microsoft for all your crappy security

To Enable all Active X Security, you may perform the following steps:
From Internet Explorer go to Tools -> Internet Options ->Security tab
Select Custom Level
Select Enable for all ActiveX controls and plug-ins
Click OK, then click OK again
Close Internet Explore and reopen it.

I have the same problem as Dragon. I cannot install and run activex control.
I keep getting a popup window indicating the page cannot be refreshed without
resending the information. My only option is to Retry, and it just keeps
looping thru the same popup. I've been on Google to locate a download, but
honestly, there is so much stuff there, I'm not certain what I'm looking at
or what I need. Can you be more specific as to what I need to download either
from Google or from the Microsoft site to fix the problem? Thanks.

the active x controls are downloaded along with the webpage that you open.

problems may sometimes arise when the security controls of internet
explorer, are set high enough that rogue active x controls are not run on
your computer, which i think should be good. if your security setting is
set to high, and you trust the site that you are opening, you may include
the site in your trusted zone.

more info on internet explorer security settings may be found on the
following:

hope this helps.

Hi,
I have a different question about ActiveX. Ihave Windows XP Home Edition
and I have somehow(easily for me) managed to mess up settings. Each time a
new window opens, I receive the following message. "Do you want to allow
software such as ActiveX controls and plug-ins to run?" It doesn't matter if
I click Yes or No because in the next window, the same box pops-up. I'm sure
that I have messed up the settings, but I don't know how to fix this. I read
the info from the sites listed in the other posts, but I'm still confused.
Please Help!
