Active X control

Hello,
Could anyone help please.
There are certain sites that open, but the animation is usually a blank with
a small Letter X surrounded by a small square on the top left corner.
Other sites don't open, but I get a prompt saying that my security prohibit
running active X control on this page, the page may not be displayed
correctly.
If I Try to open a game to play with other people on the net thru MSN, the
page will not open for the same reason.
I looked at my security in the internet option, custom...... and the active
X was ENABLED. I disabled it, closed, then opoened it again and enable it
freshly.But the problem is still there.
I have Norton anti virus, and Norton security. I checked Norton security,
and under firewall, active X is allowed.
I use xp pro, and I have installed all the updates and patches,
could it be one of those update that caused this problem?
I will appreciate so much some help on this matter, it has been going on for
a while and I am not getting anywhere.

This appears to be an Internet Explorer question and would best be asked in
a newsgroup devoted to that product. This newsgroup is for Microsoft Access
database software.
