While on the internet, I usually keep several windows open
and loading while reading e-mail or surfing. I minimize
all but the active screen, yet focus keeps changing and as
windows load, they open up by themselves. How do I get
that to stop so I can read one screen without constantly
having to minimize others that open at will? My other
computers do not do this. This one is Windows XP.

Go>start\run and type in regedit and click ok or hit enter on your keyboard. Now navigate the following route by clicking the + beside the entries in this order. HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Desktop Now just click on desktop in the left panel to open the keys sub-keys in the right panel. Now right click on ForegroundLockTimeout then click modify and set it to hexidecimal 30d40. This gives you a lock equal to 200 seconds. You can set this to whatever you want. Remember 500 = 1\2 second, 1000 = 1 second, 200000 = 200 seconds and so on. So if you wanted to change it to say 10 minutes then you put a dot in the circle beside decimal and type in 600000 . Good luck. {:~)
