Greetings, I'm looking around for a free AV for a spare computer that isn't
used often and doesn't warrant an extra licence for NOD32

I've downloaded Antivir, but have also seen reference to active virus
shiled. However, when I went to download it I got a message

"The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a
different website's address. Security certificate problems may indicate an
attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server." And I
was advised to close the site.

What does this mean?
