Active shield missing?

I restored my computer to an earlier date to get rid of some software I had
used. Once I had restored it, I received a message that stated "some
components of activeshield are either missing or might not have been
installed properly." Now my Mcafee virus shield is not activated and when I
try and do so it states the lack of active-x does not allow it to be enabled.
Any answers?

Do you want "Any Answers" or a solution. Most recent McAfee apps
have a Repair function in their installer routines. I would insert the CD,
allow Autoplay to start and run Setup. It should detect the previous
McAfee install and allow you to re-run setup to fix the errors.

Uninstall McAffee from Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs. It may even
offer a Repair option.
After uninstall (if no Repair option), reinstall the software.

When you restored to an earlier time, you also reverted any updates to
Mcafee to an earlier time as well. It should be a simple matter of updating
the Mcafee software using their update features. This has happenedto me
before and an update solved the problem for me.
Hope this helps.....

System restore only restores system files. Did you uninstall the
software
before using SR????
