Has anyone ever successfully recovered Active Directory
using the system restore mode or is this yet another
Microsoft tool which does not work?

I wonder if there is anything hidden and special you need
to set in either Backup or restore to make it work?

My actual problem is that one of my active directory
servers thinks that active directory is corrupted and is
asking me to preess OK and restart in Active directory
restore mode. After doing this and asking is to restore
everything from and earlier backup hich was set to do the
entire system drive and system state data. I still get
exactly the same error on restarting. The server is not
hosting any of the DC roles. The servers network
connections also seems to be out of action.

Chris,

You would need to restore the System State. That would be the first thing.
I have used it several times.....it works quite well.

Cary
