Hi,

We had a problem with the PC recently and the consultant
reinstalled DNS, but did not reinstall Active Directory ?
is this OK.

I had to implement a surname change recently on the server
and I imagine you just go into AD and change the display
name (their username is juyst their firstname) the
exchange address etc.. has changed, but the active
directory one has not? does this denote a prob with AD.

any help on the above queries would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Alistair

Hi Alistair,

Could you tell me where it's not showing up as changed? Do you have multiple
DCs? If so, are they replicating?

Hi Brian,

when the AD users are displayed, it is displaying the old
name, even though when I go into properties, and click on
the general tab, I can see the display name and surname
have changed, but not in the AD user list.

Can you reinstall DNS ok without it affecting Acrtive
Directory ?

Cheers
Alistair
