I apologize up front for this posting. I couldn't find a
Windows 2003 news group using the Web Interface.

There is an article that states there is a group
limitation limit of 5000 members in Windows 2000. The
article is 275523. I'm wondering, is this a problem in
Windows 2003?

The 5000 user limitation is removed in Windows Server 2003 provided
you have raised the forest functional level to Windows Server 2003
(which of course means all DC:s need to be 2003)

The 5000 user limit is not hardcoded but rather a replication buffer
limit. This limit is due to the fact of how the Jet Blue database
handles transactions.

This limit can be overcome by Group nesting

In Windows Server 2003 they store replication metadata per-value for
multi-valued linked-value attributes and replicate individual changes
instead of whole membership which eliminates the 5000 direct-member limit.
