Hi,

1) What protocol/port does AD use to advertise itself to a computer?
I.E. how does the domain name show up in the "Log on to:" dropdown on
an XP client?

2) If I have two routed networks (call it A and B) and I want the
domain name of the B network to show up on an XP client on network A,
do I simply put a B DC on my A network?

thanks

Hello (e-mail address removed),

You have to create a trust between both domains.

1) LDAP is used to access the directory
the domain list on the logon box is built based upon the (trust) relation
the workstation has with the domain and any other trustED domain the
workstation domain has

2) what do you mean with "show up on an XP client on network A"
