Active Desktop wallpaper policy not taking effect

I have a GPO in place that has the "Active Desktop
wallpaper" policy enabled. The specified wallpaper is
listed and highlighted on the Background tab, but it is
not being displayed.

I saw a similar post in this newsgroup about a month ago,
but the only suggestions were to make sure that the
wallpaper file existed and that users had permission to
access it, and to check if the GPO was being applied.

In my case, these are all true... The wallpaper file
exists in the place that it's supposed to (it will work if
I diable the policy and manually select the wallpaper) -
and it's on the local machine, so there's no network
connectivity issues; I'm using an account with Domain
Admin privileges, so there's no permissions issues; and
all the other enabled policies in the same GPO are taking
effect, so there's no problem with the GPO itself.

Any help or feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks in
advance!!

From the "Explain" tab of the Active Desktop Wallpaper GPO (hey, I ran into
the same thing once). :-)

Also, see the "Allow only bitmapped wallpaper" in the same location, and the
"Prevent changing wallpaper" setting in User Configuration\Administrative
Templates\Control Panel.

Note: You need to enable the Active Desktop to use this setting.
Note: This setting does not apply to Terminal Server sessions.

Thanks anyways Jerry, but it turned out to be something
different... I was using the %SystemRoot% variable in the
path to the wallpaper - when I changed it to C:\Winnt it
worked like a charm!
