Hello, does anyone know how to stop Hyperlinks from opening new explorer windows when clicking on a link that is shown in the active desktop

Thanks

-John

Depending on the program, it will open up a new browser the first time, but
on subsequent links, it should use the same window. This is normal.

If new browser is open each time, with IE open, go to Tools > Options >
Advanced. Click "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".

Thanks for your help. I have the setting set to Reuse windows, and IE works fine as a stand-alone browser with this setting (i.e. not opening new windows for each link.

The problem happens when I click a link in my active desktop web page--I want the link I click on to open in the same window that the active desktop was open in, instead of opening a new IE window

I've searched all over the internet for an answer, and I can't find one. If somebody could share, please do

Thank you

-John
