Hello -

I recently saw the new Mac G5, while it looked nice - the
one thing that really impressed me was its ability to
have a transition slide show on the desktop while in a
USABLE mode, ie: mousing around the desktop opening
folders, etc. I am aware that you can enable the
slideshow function in the screensaver - but my question
is can I do this in XP and if so - exactly how?

This seems like an amazing and cool thing for people who
are aesthetically friendly (or challenged - depending on
your perspective).

Anyone with an answer please step up to the plate and let
me know. Much obliged.

Well The way I see it I have 3 Computers on my home network.. and a Mac.

Why would you want a slide show on your desktop while you are covering it up
with other stuff?

Does this system look like a desklamp too??

But in all fairness, Mac's do have their place in the computing world..
Everyone needs a doorstop.

LOL

this is not possible natively in XP at this time. Though there may be
some third party software that would work.

Chances are that Apple has copyrighted the technoloy and Microsoft
won't be able to include it on future vesions of Windows. Like Apple did
with the Mac "Task Bar" or whatever they are calling.

You can find free "animated wallpaper" that will *kinda* do what you
want here : http://aprilscreationz.com/wallpaper.html

OR

You can try "3D Animated Wallpaper" ($20 shareware) which is simply
AMAZING to look at. You can use almost any screensaver as wallpaper
(even slideshows). Although....with this one you have to have a GOOD
graphics card.
