Activation?

I'm not sure how the whole product activation thing works. I installed XP
Pro on one system, retail bits, activated it and then went back to ME on
that machine a couple of months later. If I use the same cd to install on
another system, will the install go clean? will it activate? Thanks.
 
Won't be a problem if your Pro is a retail version, not OEM. If it won't
activate via internet, do a phone activation. The phone number will be
displayed on the screen.

You may have to resort to calling Microsoft to activate the OS. Why would
you go back to ME? I don't know a single person who wouldn't dump ME in a
second for XP.
 
There was a specific app that didn't run on XP that my son needed for
chool - a video editing app, trial version. Can't remember the name of it.
 
Heads up, XP has a compatibility toggle that can emulate W95, W98/SE, Me
environments to run those programs.
