Greetings --
What "activation code" did you enter? The Product Key can be
entered only during the OS's installation, or changed during the
Activation process. There is no other "activation code," per se, to
enter unless you're activating via telephone and entering the code
being dictated to you be the Activation Center -- but this code is
only good for that specific incident, and will not work again.
Make sure that you're connected to the Internet, and click Start >
All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Activate Windows.
Alternatively, Start > Run > "C:\Windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /A."
If it still will not, for some obscure reason, activate over the
Internet, simply follow the on-screen prompts and instructions to
activate by telephone.

I replaced a broken mouse on my computer, and windows XP informed me
that I needed to re-activate. so I input the activation code and
whatnot, and was informed, much to my surprise, that the code was
invalid, could not be used to activate another system. what should I
do?
