I upgraded to xp using the 30 day trial period by
installing from a friend's legitimate CD. Now I need to
return the CD to the friend and do not want to activate
using his product key as that would leave me with no CD.
I therefor purchased a new upgrade cd from a store but
before opening the package I need to know whether the new
cd will accept to instal Xp over the already installed
xp. Is there a microsoft phone number that I can call to
verify? I am having a hard time finding such a number.
Please help. Thanks

Baha

If your new Windows XP CD is an identical version
of the one you borrowed, then you can simply type-in the
new Product Key and activate via the internet.
