I have recently added a new printer and increased the memory on my computer
which is running Windows XP. Now I am getting a message asking me to
re-activate
windows. However, when I try to do this, a blank dialogue box comes up then
the system stops responding.

How do I get over this problem. I don't want my computer to completely
block me from going on it after 3 days.

Then you should quickly earn to post your XP question in a discussion group
for Windows XP. This is a .NET programming group.

I'm going to try to accelerate your progress by cross posting this to an
appropriate group.

I downloaded the guided help to remove the script, as described in KB312295,
but when I tried to run it I kept getting a message saying that the server
could not be contacted.

I then tried to carry out the manual procedure, as described in KB312295,
but came up with the following results.

A. Step 3 Resets Registry Subkey

Procedure 5. There is no RESETS subkey listed.

B. Step 8 Remove files that are associated with the script

Procedure 3. Search doesn't locate the 5 files listed in the procedure.

C. Step 9 Reactivate Windows

Procedure 1. Activate Windows does not show up in System tools.

How do I move forward, as the problem still exists?
