I have been recently besieged with Windows problems on what was otherwise a
stable PC. Two days ago, I had to rebuild the system and managed to activate
my copy of Windows XP Home.
The copy I have is a copy donated by Windows some time ago via an employee
and is a full retail version - NOT OEM.
I am now being told by the automated service that I have activated this on a
number of PCs - which is totally wrong - and that I need to purchase a new
version.
I find this hard to believe and can find no way to speak to anyone - the
system just cuts me off. HOW on earth do you reload a system on a failed PC
- brought about by MS's own problems of XP2 installation - when you cannot
speak on the telephone. All the help line eventually lead to a £40 charge.
This is scandalous when the problem ids Microsoft.
Can anyone help as the system from the PC just goes to the automated service.
