Activation Observation with Vista RC2

Every so often I see a pop up appear on the toolbar that indicates that the
machine is activating Windows Vista. The activation is successful each time
but I am puzzled by this behavior. I am running Vista Ultimate, Release
Candidate 2, build 5728.

I do not know if this is simply Vista phoning home to verify that it is a
legitimate copy or if it is a bug. Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

Just saw it happen on 5744 X86. Claimed it was successful. (WGA logo
shows on My Computer properties)

Supposedly t activated on install.

This is not normal. Submit a bug report to Microsoft.

All of the problems that I was having went away when I loaded RC2, built 5744
so maybe it was a fluke or something that was fixed on 5744. Anyway, it went
away so I am happy with it now.
