I added some new hardware to my exisiting machine. The
activation keys popped up. Window said I have three days
to activate. But button to move to next page is grayed
out. What can I do to prevent loss of access? Computer
seems fine otherwise.

Bruce:

I tried your suggestion. It just opened the Activate
Windows window. It is the underscore Next at the bottom
of the window that I am having difficulty with. The next
button is grayed out. Even if I wanted to make the
correction the button will not allow the advancement to
the next page. So, I am one my next to the last day. Do,
I wait and see if it gives me the button or what?

Thanks,

Earl Jackson

Ron:

I tried your suggestions. Both executed sucessfully; but
the same results are still showing in the Activate
Windows window. The next button is still grayed out and
the keys are showing in the start-up bar. So those
two .dll's must be OK. There must be another .dll that is
hosed.

Thanks,

Earl Jackson

Okay. I am now officially out of my depth on this issue.

I will try to get one of the activation gurus to join this thread.

Good luck

I can only think it is not liking the idea of an over the net
activation. That windows, as run in the way Bruce suggests, *or* from
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Activate Windows
*ought* to give an option to activate by phoning in, and I would use
that. If necessary boot into Safe mode, where that should certainly be
possible
