Activation Key Issue

Hi all,

After logging on to my computer this evening, the screen said that my
activation key is invalid. I'm also getting these nagging reminders that 'I
might be a victim of software counterfeiting.'

I've owned this laptop for over a year now and had this issue come up once
before (about six months ago). I remember that some individuals on this
board suggested some fixes, but none worked (leading to an eventual factory
reset and lots of headaches recovering files). If anyone has any suggestions
about a possible fix, I'd be most appreciative. I'd also appreciate any
suggestions to avoid this problem in the future. As an FYI, I only have
access to my default browser (Firefox).
