ACTIVATION: CAN I DO IT AGAIN?

Due to an issue involving a lost file during booting I am
considering a clean installation (I tried the repair
option but no joy).
I assume I would have to reactivate. Is this allowed?
How many times can I use the activation code that came
with the disk? Or will Bill Gates assume I am installing
it on another PC.
 
There is no limit to how many times you can reactivate, as long as it is on
the original computer.

There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and
activate the same WinXP license on the same PC. If it's been more
than 120 days since you last activated that specific Product Key,
you'll most likely be able to activate via the Internet without
problem. If it's been less, you might have to make a 5 minute phone
call.
