Activating Norton System Works

P

Pam

When I attempt to activate the Norton LiveUpdate program
tells me that I am not connected to the internet when I am.

I contacted Symantec and they said to check my internet
connections - I have instructions for if IE is the default
browser and to contact my ISP if it is not.

My ISP is a dial in to AOL - so I contacted them. They
said to make sure that IE is the default browser. I
followed their instructions and it still didn't work.

I downloaded freeware SetBrowser based on postings here
and confirm that IE really is my current default browser -
I didn't attempt to set it again, simply took the current
brower indicator at it's word.

I'm back to Symantec for more help - but I'm hoping
someone here has a good idea to share...

When you load LiveUpdate (but before running it to check for updates),
have you checked the Options menus to determine that it is configured to
use your connection?
