activate mpeg-2 codec in roxio easy media creator9.1 in windows vi

i bought a new computer w/windows vista home premium and installed roxio easy
media creator 9.0 which runs excellently in xp. When i try to use any
function it ask me to activate the product but i the product key field is
empty and return with invalid product key. I can't use any function in the
product as I cannot activate e.g mpeg-2 codec etc. I update the product to
9.1 and the error maintains and i don't know what to do.I'm desperate
