action settings for macros

Actions recorded as a macro is not executed by the the object (eg, button)
whose action settings specifies that macro. But action setting work for
Hyperlink. The macro runs when executed from Tool menu --> Macro --->Run.
When I call the VB code of the recorded action from another VB code (run by a
control), the message "there is no currently active document window" come
out. I'm using Powerpoimnt 2003. I reintalled Powerpoint, but the problem
still comes out. Help please.

Code, like cars and appliances, is hard to diagnose over the phone.
You'll have to bring it into the shop for us to take a look at. ;-)

Post what you've got so we can see it.

But have a look here first:

When you record a macro, it creates code that generally will not work in
Slide Show view. When you are pressing a button, you must be in Slide Show
view. See details at:

I was able to work out that macro action seeting does not work during slide
show. But you tips on how to make it work is really useful. Saved me a lot of
time. Also, thanks for the useful web sites. I have used PPT for a long time,
but it is only recently that I am usin VBA. Guess Lll be asking more
questions in the future.

Most welcome. Don't be shy.

Read my posts, then *carefully* read David's answers to learn where I got it
wrong.
