action>new message to contact (for categories in business contact

I have read about sending an email for everyone in a category (see below).
That works for me when I am in Contacts. When I switch to my Business
Contact folder and click on a category header, the option for 'new message to
contact' is greyed out and I can't perform it. Any suggestions? thanks,

View your contacts in the "by category" view. Click on the category header,
then select ACTION>NEW MESSAGE TO CONTACT - the result will be a new, blank
email message with all contacts from that category inlcuded in the TO field.

Use mail merge as a workaround. It's cleaner that way anyway unless you want
your recepients to see everyone you are e-mailing this to. Certain companies
routinely provide me with contact information for all of their customers or
my competitors. Go to help and type "mail merge" for more information on how
it works.

Are we talking about BCM 2003 or BCM 2007. And if 2003, which version of
2003? :)
