After inserting an action button into PP 2003 to play an AVI video, the message always comes up about this file might contain virus, etc; is there anyway to not have this message appear but go ahead and play the video clip

Thanks for any help, steve

No, there's no way around this message when using action settings.

You could, though, use Insert/Movie/From File and let PPT play the AVI
within the slide. It will use (probably) the MCI media player instead of
Windows Media Player, though.

If you are using the Action Setting of "Hyperlink to", you will always get
this message. Sometimes I have found that if you use the "Run Program"
option instead, you won't get the message. Might be worth a try.

Right-click on your button, select "Action Settings", click the "Run
Program" option, then browse to your movie file. Since the dialog box is
looking for programs, you will need to change the "Files of type" to "All
files" in order to see your movie file.

Let us know if it works or not (haven't tried it since I normally insert the
movie into PowerPoint, like Echo suggested).
