Action buttons and dual screen / presenter view

Hi
I am using a desktop with a projector setup, ATI card with dual outputs. In
powerpoint i am using action buttons. However the action buttons cannot be
accessed in the presenter view. I have to move the mouse to the secondary
display to click them.

Is there any way to disable presenter view, while still using the dual
monitor setup? Meaning both primary and secondary displays show the exact
same thing (show the same full screen presentation). I realize i could
achieve this by changing the graphic card settings from "extend desktop" to
"clone desktop". However, i need the "extend desktop" for another
application, and prefer not to keep changing this setting.

Sorry, you can have your cake, or you can eat your cake, you cannot have
both.

Because this function is at the Windows level, instead of the program or
presentation levels, you will need to decide which of these functionalities
is more improtant.

If there are just a few of these Action buttons, you can create shortcuts to
the code on a toolbar or QAT (depending on your version of PowerPoint).
However, this quickly becomes unreasonably difficult to manage when there
are dozens of action buttons and requires accessing the Edit Window behind
the Presenter's view (click on the presentation name on the task bar while
in slide show mode to access the edit window).

Thanks for your answer. So basically, if i am using "extend desktop" with
dual monitors, i only have two choices when i present: presenter mode, or
just the normal view. Am i correct?

Only is a very strong word. Those are the two solutions that are included
in PowerPoint "out of the box" so far. If you wanted to use add-ins you
could build one that could do a great deal more, but would involve a large
amount of coding (API calls, creating your our GUI, and such).
