Thanks. I take it you use this yourself and have a pointed
question about it. That is, how easy is it to manage? I ask
because I could never much more than walk and chew gum at the
same time, and since a stroke find things complicated that most
people, especially software reviewers, don't. If Acronis
requires a lot of tending I'd be in trouble with it. If it
pretty much takes care of itself, great.
If anybody has experience with Acronis I'd like to know how much
care and feeding it requires once you set it up. Thanks
Although you can set it up where it can do a lot of things itself - as with
anything else in life - there is a learning curve to new (to you) stuff.
Also - there can and may be trouble with your configuration, etc. You could
get 100 people telling you 100 different things about setting up TrueImage
or Ghost to make automatic backups of their systems or of their luck with
the built-in Windows XP backup utility or about making an image by booting
from a boot diskette/CD/etc (so you get a true disk image you can restore
from anytime) --> but until you start diving in and learning yourself -
you'll never truly know.
Read all about the products - download some trial software and utilize it -
if you have some other PC (than your main) - so much the better! This is
one of those times where you have to see what works best for you...
It could be that the interface and such of:
http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/
is best for the way you think, but then again:
http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/products/overview.jsp?pcid=br&pvid=ghost10
might be more up your alley... However:
http://www.xxclone.com/
could be all you need and be easier for you to understand/use/schedule...
Something from:
http://www.bootitng.com/
Might do all you really need and do it in a way you understand.
*You* have to try them, because *you* are the only one who knows what you
can use in the end.
