If you own a Seagate or Maxtor hard drive, you can download their "DiscWizard" software - basically a free version of Acronis True Image (that costs around $50!).

I'm installing this now, and it looks almost exactly the same as True Image, only free for many people :thumb:

Worth a download if you have one of these drives and need to make backups

Well I just downloaded it and I don't have a Maxtor or Seagate drive, wonder if it will let me install ..;)

Only Maxtor drives I have are small IDE drives that I have in my swappable caddies, 20Gb & 60Gb.

How does the software verify ownership?

Wow thats quite a big download. Phew arent we glad dialup is a thing of the past ;)

Thanks Ian :)

Another software item to be stored away on one of my Utilities drives

Have not tried the free software but Acronis True Image is the biz. Very good for dual booting with linux etc.
