I saw today that Amazon has this software for sale for $26.99 - if anyone is
interested.

I have no interest except to provide info that might help someone.

You don't provide a link to see if there is a catch to it since the cost is
half of what it is from Acronis. It also may be an illegal copy being sold.

I don't think there is a catch to it
I got this version for free with a magazine
think this company is trying to get some ground back

Newegg makes a difference to me, I would have checked if there was a catch ( which
there isn't ) but wouldn't have questioned if the product was legal.

I bought my copy from NewEgg as a download for a total price of $31.90,
which included a small extra charge described as something or other --
don't remember what right now. This is probably the same deal. I might
add that I had no knowledge of Acronis until I started following this
ng; using what I've learned here, my system is now Norton-free --
Hallelujah!

NewEgg is the first place I check when I'm planning to buy something.
Usually good prices, and a very good tracking system, though generally
my purchases have arrived before expected. Usual disclaimer: I have no
connection with NewEgg.

Yeah I saw it earlier today at the lower price but now it's up to $39.99. I
was going to buy it this evening at the lower price. Darn. ..lol
 
Interesting... I just brought the website up and price is now $39.99
I printed out the $26.99 webpageand cannot find any time limit on the price.
