Suddenly IE does not work properly with Adobe Acrobat. I
have removed and reinstalled Acrobat just to be sure that
was not the problem. When I open a linked Acrobat
document in a new window, then close the Acrobat window,
the initial IE window with the link errors and closes as
well. Any suggestions??

Acrobat or Acrobat Reader? Did you uninstall the version you had and then
install the latest one? ...with your anti-virus application disabled the
entire time?

Well, yes and no. I am using Acrobat full version 5,
because that is what I own. It worked fine with IE until
Monday of this week (it may have been off before that,
but was working about 2 weeks ago for sure). I
deinstalled it and reinstalled it (Acrobat) with the
virus software off. The problem does not appear to be
with Acrobat, but with IE. It launches the Acrobat in a
new window as it is supposed to do, but when I close the
Acrobat browser window, the parent window "hangs" and
then closes. No error message. Oh, it works fine with
Netscape. Could this be a bug in the latest security fix,
which I did install a couple of weeks ago?
