ACPI problem?

I recently lost all my power schemes and had to restore
them as a download. Since then my standby mode has not
been working properly and I have been advised that this
might be because the ACPI is not functioning properly.
Is there any way of restoring ACPI to its default values?

Hope this makes sense!

Brian

Hi Kelly,

Many thanks for the reply. I've looked on your site
(isn't it brilliant!) but can't seem to locate the
Winexit.scr file referred to. Does that file only apply
to Windows 2000? I'm using XP pro.

Hi Brian,

I have a write-up for that on my site. In the meantime, do some reading

Hi Brian,

Try a repair install and hope for the best. Other than that, ACPI is
created during the install. As for Winexit.scr, I have no idea why you
mention this, but you need to create a desktop shortcut to enable. Good
luck with it all.
