acpi error event 10

I use sony vaio notebook which having a designed for WindowsMe label. After i intstall winXP and use it for a while, it always restart itselfs. Even though I disable screen saver, hibernate, stand by mode, but it still restart.

Error message: ACPI BIOS Is Attempting to Write an Illegal Memory OpRegio

Please advice

Hi,

You need a BIOS update from the system manufacturer, this is quite common.
