I posted about this in an earlier thread and thought I'd start a new
one if I may...lately I've been getting the ACPI BIOS is attempting to
read from an illegal IO port address error in XP home's event
viewer...I believe this is the cause of my PC freezing up at random
when browsing, running programs....Ihave been doing Google searches
til I am crossed eyed...for 2 days straight, no freezes, but last
night it started freezing...I read that doing a BIOS update would
help, but scared to do ao...also read doing an XP repair to make ACPI
standard PC...if that's the fix, I'd rather go about doing that..how
do I do it?

one more quick question...is there a way to repair the ACPI doing a
repair install?not sure what to do..
