I have a database that I need to access on my computer, I
have 2000 version. But a friend has sent it from a newer
version... how can I get it to open.

I can't aford to buy the new version, and my friend is
backpacking in Malaysia...

Even if I can open it another way and copy-paste would be
better than nothing.

Thanks

Find someone with that newer version of ACCESS and ask that person to
convert it to 2000 version.

You cannot, unfortunately. When Access2000 was written, the
programmers did not know what formats might be designed in the future,
and of course did not allow for them.

As suggested, you'll need to open the database using A2002/3 and save
it in A2000 format; somebody with that version installed will need to
do it for you.
