I have a new Toshiba Satellite Pro M70 laptop with Win XP Pro SP2 (fully
updated).
I have a VuegoScan flatbed scanner (equivalent I think to Acer 4300U/3300U
&/or Benq S2W 4300U/3300U), which I had intended to install with the latest
scanner software update (mirascan_v403u10b.exe - 9.2MB), which I downloaded
from the internet.
However I inadvertantly connected the scanner to the laptop, and turned it
on before installing the scanner software, with the result that Windows XP
automatically detected the scanner. In Device Manager under Imaging Devices,
it shows up as Flatbed Scanner_23, Manufacturer : Acer Peripherals, and the
"Driver File Details" tab lists 11 drivers.
Question is, can I/should I install the scanner software that I downloaded ?
Are there any bad consequences in doing so?
How should I go about it ?
Would I be able to revert to the Windows scanner drivers if the software
installation fails ?
Would appreciate any advice.
Thank you
