Acer AS5735 DVD's won't play

Hi everyone,

Have just bought my son this laptop (as an emergency because his Advent's keyboard just packed up) and he can't play his DVD's on it. They are area code 2 which I think is for Europe but zippo.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be really grateful.

Which OS are you using (Vista I guess?), and do you get any errors or just a blank screen when you try and play them?

It could be that there is no DVD decoder on the laptop, in which case try something like VLC Media Player to load the DVD: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
