accumulative totaling

Does anyone know how to accumulate totals?

Ex:expense account year to date total.
I use a spreadsheet to watch my weekly expenses, I have a
colume and a cell dedicated to the sum of that colume
(g5), I would like to create a cell that will save the
total of g5 once a week and add it to the total for the
year.

This will total the column continuously, not an a weekly basis as yo
asked.

in cell g5 enter =Sum(Expense column)

Where expense column is the column containing the expenses.
That is if it is column c, enter C:C for Expense column ( g5 i
=Sum(C:C
