Accumlative Time Sheets

I am trying to create leave balance time sheets with
columns that reflect a running total hours available, hours
earned, and hours used. Our system works in hours and
minutes and the major problem is subtracting (example -
1:30 from 17:07).
Can anyone help with this?
 
Just take one away from the other, eg with 17:07 in cell B1, and 1:30 in cell A1

=B1-A1

You need to format the cell containing the formula as time as well though, OR,
you need to multiply it by 24 to get it as a normal number. Excel stores days
as units, so 1 hour is 1/24, one minute is 1/(24*60) and so on. =B1-A1 for your
data would give either 15:37 if formatted as time, OR 15.62 if you mutiply by 24
to turn back into hours.
