That's not a GUID - it's a SID (Security Identifier)
Each user/group is identified by its SID and then the user interface tries
to substitute the correct user/group name for the SID. If the user interface
is unable to locate the user/group that corresponds to the SID then you will
just see the SID.
You could see the SID for a number of reasons. Some of these reasons
include:
- The SID is from a remote domain that is currently unavailable
- The user/group that corresponds to the SID has been removed from the
domain
- A domain was trusted at one point but no longer is (and the SID is from
the trusted domain)
