"ACCOUNT UNKNOWN" shows up under drive properties security tab

I have 3 "account unknown" in the security tab of my extra (E) drive
properties--which I use for data storage.
The "ACCOUNT UNKNOWN" is followed by a series of numbers in parentheses--
(S-1-15-21-1645522239-1979792683-1801674531-1005).
In the second ACCOUNT UNKNOWN the last four digits are 1006; in the third,
they are 1007. The 3rd one has full control, where the others have all
checked but full control. I have tried deleting them and they just come
right back.

If external drive, ever hooked this drive to another system?

If internal - has the machine ever been/is a member of a domain?
 
This is an internal extra drive, used to store data only--no programs, in a
network of 5 computers. Only 3 of those computers would normally access this
drive for the data.

Does the 'unknown account' show the same on all 3 computers?

With it being shared like that - it is totally plausible that an account
might exist on one system that does not exist on the others and thus - when
connected/used on one system, it gets one account written to it... When used
on another - yet another account. However - the account on System A does
not exist on System B, so it would come up as account unknown.

Who are the 'owners' of said files/folders?
