Dear Sirs/Madams:

As I setup one standalone RAS server which only link with DHCP server, I
found out that only the account with "administrator" right who can log in
the RAS server successfully.

But only additional problem that after such "administrator" account receive
virtual IP from DHCP server, I found the Gateway IP at this remote dial-in
(using modem) PC is the same with that received virtual IP. What's wrong
about my setting?

I am waiting for your help. Thanks!!

Regards,

Alex

Which users have dialup access is up to you. You control this through
the user account properties and the remote access policy.

The default gateway setting on the client will be the "received" IP.
This is the address of the PPP link to the server, and that is where the
traffic has to go. What problems are you having?

By default, nobody has dial-in access right. You can set
up this in the Dial-in properties in the user.

The default gateway is correct. It is a PPP connection
and all the traffic must go for this interface

But I have set the RAS server that allow them to access Local network and
web. But I found that such PPP client cannot see any web page or ping to
other PCs with using the same set of IP (e.g.: 192.168.1.x)

Please help me to find the problem.

Thanks for your help!!

There are lots of things to check. First you must get the routing right.
When you connect, click the connection icon and select Details. This gives
you the IP address assigned to the client and the server (ie both ends of
the PPP connection). Can you ping the server from the client using this IP?
(If you can't, your PPP connection is sick!)

If you can, what happens if you try to ping the server by its LAN IP?
Can you ping a LAN client by its IP address?
