Once you define another account that is in the Administrators group then
it becomes the default admin account. That is because the Administrator
account should NOT be used as your personal account. If its profile
gets screwed up and if it is the only admin account then you have no way
to login (well, there might be workarounds, like deleting the old
corrupted profile and forcing the create of a new default one).
After you define another admin account, the Administrator account
disappears from the Fisher-Price "Welcome" screen. I got rid of that
Welcome screen soon after installing Windows XP Pro and reverting back
to the classic login screen where I can specify the account name (so I
can enter "Administrator"). The Welcome screen only appears in Windows
XP Pro if you do NOT log into a domain or if you haven't gotten rid of
it when logging into a workgroup. Disabling the Welcome screen also
disables fast user switching.
You never mentioned WHICH version of Windows XP that you have, Home or
Pro. In Windows XP Pro, you can switch away from the Welcome Screen to
the classic login screen by hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del twice. In Windows XP
Home, you have to reboot into Safe Mode (one of the prices for not
getting the Pro version).
