I'm not sure I entirely understand your description. I think that you're
saying NNTP (port 119) has been blocked on the network.

Alternative: Access the newsgroups using the web interface. The web
interface (HTTP) uses port 80 - the port for internet access. I'm not fond
of the web interface but if it's all that is available on the network, it's
better than no access at all.

Hi,there.
Obviously, forbid changing local accounts cause that problem! I can't do
anything about changing and viewing my local account! I'm sure it is not
the reason that some firewalls block the ports as I can use outlook express
which runing on my virtual machine to access the newsgroup! Who can helo me?
And who can tell me the name of the third software (for free) to read
newsgroup? Thanks a lot!
