I accidentally unistalled the program that is windows
micosoft professional with front page-like "word" in
windows 2000-anyway it was a seriously terrible move-I
don't have the CD to reinstall it-is there a download of
this anywhere?-I still have windows XP Professional for
starting my computer but my documents are all in a
different form-I have tried system restore to fix my
stupid move and it doesn't work HELP please

Since you didn't make it clear exactly what you uninstalled,
the only answer is that what ever it was, must be installed
from a disk. Only you have to know what it is first.

Word and other Office programs are separate from the operating system
(Windows). Some, but not all, OEMs include them as an extra. Otherwise,
they must be purchased separately (as standalone applications or as a part
of a purchased package of Office applications).

There are free Word viewers available for download from MS. To obtain, use
the link to the Office downloads shown in the left hand sidebar of the MS
Office home page found here: http://office.microsoft.com/home/default.aspx

The viewers allow viewing only. If you need to edit these documents,
install MS Office or MS Word. I haven't tried them but there are some
alternatives to Office (such as Open Office) that could be used as well.

Browse ZDnet Downloads for Undelete programs. Do not save any more files
than you have to until you resolve this.

Do they have a viewer for Excel? I didn't see one, just wondering if you
knew, and I will look again. thanks.

If you uninstalled Microsoft Office, as it seems you have, then you will
need the installation disks to reinstall it again. There is no other way
around it. Undelete programs will not help you.

If you cannot afford to purchase Microsoft Office you may find that the free
OpenOffice Suite will meet your needs. It can be set to open, and works very
nicely with, documents created by Microsoft Office programs
