==================================
Are you saying you saw the following dialog:

xx\xxxxx\xxxxx\.mswmm already exists.
Do you want to replace it?
And you selected...Yes?

This means the original project file has been
overwritten and is not recoverable.

Thank you! It would not have happened had the computer not constantly not
responded and have to be forced to end by the task manager and then reopened.
This didn't happen before for my movies regardless of length. I can only
think that, even though I configured the movie maker to be compatible with
nero, it is not allowing for easy editing my movie files I made with nero-
which came with my sony digital camera. Otherwise I was using my sony
erricson phone which worked better - in all ways. Do you have an idea as to
why (1) the video when imported as an mpeg from my nero files comes upside
down? and (2) why the movie maker freezes every 3 minutes or even less? Thank
you again. It is a devastating loss of time and effort.

The issues you describe sound like file incompatibility.
