While i was cleaning up my desktop, I accidentally deleted my Moive Maker
application, thinking it was just the shortcut. I tried to recover it but the
file is already gone. I would go to tech support but I'm on vacation and my
product ID is at home.

Is there any way I can get another copy of the application?

========================
First...try the following...

Go to...Start / Run...

Type moviemk.exe and press enter.

If...by chance...you still have Movie Maker...it will launch.

Otherwise...there are two possible ways to reinstall Movie Maker 2.1.

1)

The following steps previously offered by
Carlos, MCSE are supposed to reinstall
MM2.1. (you'll need your Windows XP Disk)

1. Go to C:\Windows\inf
2. Right click on Moviemk.inf and click on Install
3. When it asks for your Windows XP cd put
it in and browse to the I386 folder. Click OK
===

2)
Download and reinstall WinXP SP2...

Generally, users install from the net but this
site allows you to download the complete
file to your hard drive before installing.

It's good for a network administrator because
you can burn it on a CD and install it on as
many computers as you need to.

And it's good for a single machine because
if you ever need to install it again...you'll have
it available without waiting for a download.

Finally...you can download Movie Maker 2.0
from the following site:

Good luck.

I forgot to mention, I need the version that came with my copy of vista,
which is version 3.0. I tried installing earlier versions but my mm files
won't open in them.
