Accidental password

Somehow I have managed unwittingly to password protect my
Access 2002 database. I think it happened when I tried to
link a cell in an excel spreadsheet to my database. The
result is I am locked out because I have no idea how the
password was generated.
How can I delete the password protection on my database?
I am the only user and it is not available except on my
machine. I really don't want to revert to my backup.

Hi Andy,

If a database password was placed on your database (and you didn't do it )
then the only means is to resort to backup or contact a database recovery
specialist. Do a Google search for the keywords "database", "recovery",
and "access"

Can you E-Mail me your mdb file so that I can try to recover and open it.

Please send it in zip format if its size is more.

Yes - here's a good MS Access password recovery service that we use
sometimes:

http://www.intertek.org.uk/services/

If you're a new customer they'll sometimes do the first file free of
charge - don't tell them I told you! ;)

N.B. Please do not access any MDB file or database unless you are
authorized to do so.
