Andy

I am new to XP and unfortunately I have just change my
user accounts and deleted the entire contents of my
documents. I only thought it was going to delete the
user settings. I have 4 years worth of work lost

Does anyone know a way to restore my files ??

Hi,

Oops - you shouldn't of done that. If the files haven't been overwritten yet
(and everything you do with the machine creates the possibility that they
will be overwritten), this free recovery utility may help:

Andy,

This may be too simple, but did you empty the Recycle
Bin after you deleted the folders? If not, they are still
in the Recycle Bin and can be restored by highlighting
them there and selecting "Restore" on the Recycle
Bin "File" menu.

Hope this helps,
MIlt

Dear Nutcase,

Thanks for the point in the right direction. I have
managed to salvage about 70% of the files

Thank you

Andy,

You nearly lost 4 years of work. Does that mean that in 4 years you never
made a backup of you data? If so, You´re a very brave man! ;-)
